About Me

Hi there. Thanks for visiting my website.

I am just a guy who wants to contribute to the world in a positive way. I've been drawing since I was a kid, so I figure the best talent I have to offer the world is that of art, design, and creativity. My goal is to continue to educate myself about the history and the science of construction, with a focus on regionalism,  sustainability, and innovative design & construction techniques. I also hope to use my skills & my time to contribute to humanitarian efforts aimed at easing the burden of homelessness, and reforming the American education system.

I spent 4.5 years working Fazio Architects, a small Architecture Firm in downtown Austin, designing small medical offices, residential projects, and interior architecture for the Chuy's Mexican Food chain. I currently work for myself as a freelancer & contractor, through my own personal business,

Cody Gatlin Design, inc.

I also lived in a volunteer capacity at a community built for the chronically homeless in Austin, TX, from 2015-2017. The project is called "Community First Village", and was created by the Austin-based non-profit, "Mobile Loaves & Fishes". I feel so lucky to have lived in a micro-house that I personally designed, through an AIA-sponsored design competition in 2014, and to help with a project that I feel such a strong personal connection to.
